Meet Our Founder- Maya Rabbitskin
Founder & CEO | Certified Lice Removal Specialist | Certified Hair Removal & Lash Technician | Barber
Maya Rabbitskin is the founder of Sacred Shears Hair Studio Ltd. — a mobile salon built on accessibility, dignity, and community care.
With professional training in Lice Removal, Hair Removal Services, and lash extensions, with additional training in sanitation and hygiene protocols. Maya combines technical skill with a trauma-informed, client-first approach to ensure every service is delivered safely and respectfully.
Sacred Shears was created from lived experiences- after witnessing families, including her own community, being turned away or shamed in salon spaces. Maya made it her mission to remove stigma, restore confidence, and create safe spaces where clients feel seen and valued.
For Maya, this work is more then beauty. Its about empowerment, healing, and building confidence from the inside out.

Melanie Berryman
Community Lice Prevention & Education Specialist | Medical Background | Mobile Barber
Melanie brings over 10 years of experience as a medical assistant into her role at Sacred Shears. With a strong foundation in patient care, sanitation protocols, and health education, she approaches lice prevention and treatment with a medically-informed perspective.
She leads Sacred Shears' community education programming, working directly with schools, families, and organizations to reduce stigma and provide clear, practical guidance rooted in respect and dignity.
Her medical background allows her to confidently educate families on identification, prevention, hygiene standards, and reinfestation control.
Melanie believes education breaks cycles. Her mission is to replace fear and embarrassment with knowledge, confidence and compassionate care.
Nicole Solnicka
Red Seal Hairstylist | Certified Lash, Makeup & Nail Technician
Inclusive & Sensory- Aware Children's Service
Nicole is a certified Red Seal Hairstylist with advanced training in precision cutting, fades and children's barbering. She is also certified in Lash Extensions, professional Makeup application, and is a certified Nail Technician, making her a versatile part of Sacred Shears' beauty and wellness team.
Nicole has a special passion for working with children, including autistic and neurodivergent clients. She approaches every appointment with patience, calm energy, and sensory awareness to create a comfortable, supportive experience tailored to each child's needs.
She believes beauty services should build confidence- never overwhelm. Her goal is ensure every client leaves feeling proud, safe and understood.
Cassandra Desjarlais – Apprentice Stylist
Cassandra is known for her friendly energy, gentle approach, and dedication to client comfort. She takes pride in delivering services that are both professional and personalized, ensuring each client feels relaxed and cared for. Cassandra believes that great service begins with listening, understanding, and creating a positive experience from start to finish. Her passion for helping others feel confident and put-together shines through in every appointment. Justice Rabbitskin- Residential Deep Cleaning & Sanitation Specialist
Justice Werchola is a proud member of Big River First Nation on Treaty 6 Territory. With over five years of experience as a compassionate nursing aide, she has always been deeply committed to caring for others and supporting community well-being.
In the past year, Justice has expanded her passion for helping into professional deep cleaning services. She takes pride in restoring spaces with care, attention to detail, and respect — helping families feel comfortable, refreshed, and at peace in their homes.
